Fantastic diving at Hook Head

Lough Derg SAC travelled to Hook Head, Co Wexford, on the weekend of July 12/13/14th for the annual South East Dive Rally.

We enjoyed a series of fantastic dives in glorious weather over the weekend. These included a mixture of shore dives, wreck dives and diving onto underwater rocks with abundant marine life. Among the highlights were ‘The Girl Arlene’ and ‘Harry’s Wreck’, as well as the popular ‘Bath Tub’ shore dive.

A big Thank You to Hook Sub Aqua Club for organising yet another hugely successful weekend. We’ll be back!

The selection of photos below offers a flavour of how we got on over the weekend.

Submarine dive at Cork Harbour

On Sunday, July 7th, nine members of Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club gathered at Cork Harbour to dive the UC42 submarine wreck.

The UC42 was a German mine-laying submarine that sank in September 1917 off Guileen, Cork. We enjoyed this dive so much that we decided to go back and do it a second time!

Below are some photos from the two dives and another enjoyable day out for the club.
