Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club is a SCUBA diving and snorkelling club affiliated to the Irish Underwater Council, which is a member of CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques).

The club was founded in 1992. We currently have around 30 members. The membership comes from many walks of life and hails from Tipperary, Offaly, Limerick, Clare and Galway.

Diving season runs from roughly mid-March to mid-November, weather permitting. We dive all over Ireland and often go on weekend trips to  some of the country’s best locations for diving and snorkelling.

During the winter months, we meet every Wednesday at Nenagh Leisure Centre from 7-8pm to train and keep up our fitness levels in the pool.

New members are always welcome. Trainees normally begin learning how to SCUBA dive in October. With the help of fully-qualified instructors, training takes place over a phased basis in the safety of the swimming pool before open water training begins the following March. We also facilitate lectures for new trainees in the hotel.
